For the last 2000 years, nature and man’s labours have been locked together to supply the raw material for architectural and artistic works all over the world.
This guided tour to the marble quarries will allow you to see first-hand the people, places, instruments, machines and daily routines of an ancient tradition. Driving inside several active quarries, you will reach an altitude of nearly 1000 meters above sea level with many stops for explanations to give you an in-depth understanding of the excavation process. With the Mediterranean sparkling below, there will be ample opportunity for fabulous photos! You will have also the chance to pass through an amazing underground quarry!
