An archaeological exploration inside and outside the city walls. You tour will start with an overview of the Roman Forum where Tom, your personal architect-guide is collaborating on an archaeological project. Tom is an architect that has been based in Rome for several years who has been providing unique tours of the city.

You will enter briefly one of the ancient sites under the Circus Maximus and then head out along the Appian Way to the Aurelian walls; Rome’s largest and most overlooked ancient monument 12 miles long and over 1800 years old, entering the guards’ towers for a walk along the ramparts.

Your morning will continue with a drive out the ancient Roman Road to the tomb of Cecilia Metella. You will enjoy a special entrance into the Jewish Catacombs of Vigna Randanini (open only by special arrangement and with torches!). Then you will stop for a coffee either at a classic cafe’ or a friend’s home if they are in. You will end the tour in the shadows of the ancient aqueducts where they traverse the Roman countryside, and then return to your hotel in Rome.

All of our experiences are completely private unless stated otherwise. Most of our half-day tours operate based on a 3 / 4-hour time frame: Mornings from 08:00 – 13:00 and afternoons 14:00 – 18:00. However, these times may vary according to availability.
